Hello. I am Marion Schmidlin. Welcome to my blog dedicated to needle punch (or punch needle if you prefer) and anything else my meandering mind stumbles upon. I live with my husband, Bruce and two cats, Tressie and Mitsy in Royal Oak, Michigan, where we raised our two wonderful children, Mike and Sarah. I call my site ‘Yooper Trails’ as my heart still calls the Copper Country home. The Copper Country is in the far north region of Upper Michigan or UP. Anyone from the UP is a Yooper.

Some time after I retired three years ago my very talented sister, Carole introduced me to punch needle fiber art. At that time I knew few people familiar with the art. I began searching the web and found many inspiring sites and artists. I wanted to be a part of this internet family, so after much trepidation Yooper Trails was born.
